Depending on the goals you’ve discussed with your provider, a topical numbing cream may be applied to your skin 30-45 minutes before your Moxi treatment. During treatment, some practitioners may use cold air. This combination will help keep you comfortable. As the provider glides the Moxi laser across the skin, you may feel a slight-warming sensation, which means the laser is doing it’s job. Moxi creates micro-coagulation zones in the skin-the body naturally repairs these zones and replaces damaged cells with healthy, vibrant skin.
The day following Moxi, your skin may appear red, and depending on your level of treatment, you may see the small micro dots called “mends” where the laser was applied. As the microzones heal, they will darken and feel rough. Between days 3 and 5, the mends will slough off, revealing new skin beneath.
Your post-care regimen is simple: Stay out of the sun until skin completely heals and all mends are gone. You may wear makeup 24 hours after treatment. Wash your skin morning and night with a gentle cleanser. Keep your skin moisturized and apply your favorite physical barrier sunscreen .
