Weight Loss Consultation & Wellness AT THE LUXE

Weight Loss Solutions Including GLP-1 Agonist Injections

As part of your overall wellness journey to the best version of yourself, The Luxe is bringing you weight loss solutions, including GLP-1 agonist injections for eligible patients. During your custom weight loss consultation, our providers will determine your health and weight goals and the solutions that will help you reach them in the safest, most effective way possible.

Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 agonists.

These drugs mimic the action of a hormone called glucagon-like peptide 1. When blood sugar levels start to rise after someone eats, these drugs stimulate the body to produce more insulin. The extra insulin helps lower blood sugar levels. But it’s not clear how the GLP-1 drugs lead to weight loss. Doctors do know that GLP-1 agonists appear to help curb hunger. These drugs also slow the movement of food from the stomach into the small intestine. As a result, you may feel full faster and longer, so you eat less.

Along with helping to control blood sugar and boost weight loss, GLP-1s and SGLT-2 inhibitors seem to have other major benefits. Research has found that some drugs in these groups may lower the risk of heart disease, such as heart failure, stroke and kidney disease. People taking these drugs have seen their blood pressure and cholesterol levels improve. But it’s not clear whether these benefits are from the drug or the weight loss.

What Can GLP-1 AGONISTS Do For Me?

If GLP-1 agonists such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide are prescribed for you during your weight loss consultation, they can help you manage your weight when used with a healthy lifestyle that includes mindful eating habits and exercise.

We will do a thorough medical weight loss consultation with you prior to prescribing and administering any GLP-1 agonist (like semaglutide and tirzepatide), including complete blood work. The FDA has strict guidelines as to who is eligible for this treatment outside of diabetic patients, including a BMI over 30 and other health assessments. We will always prescribe and treat patients in the safest, most effective way possible.

During your weight loss consultation with one of our providers, we will obtain a complete medical history including questions about your current lifestyle. There’s no preparation needed except coming prepared to speak honestly with your provider. Your provider may also discuss non-invasive cosmetic options to get the look that you’re after to use in conjunction with their plan like BodyTite.

Your Treatment

We prefer to administer your weekly injections at The Luxe so that we maintain a close relationship with our clients and can easily assess and help with any side effects that you may have. We will also weigh you and obtain your vital signs at these appointments. The appointments typically last 15 minutes.

There is very little recovery with GLP-1 agonist injections, and you may have a slight redness around the injection site for a short time. To achieve your desired weight loss results, you will need to be committed to changing your diet and making lifestyle changes such as an exercise regimen. Most people see significant results around 12 weeks, but some see results as soon as 4 weeks. Your provider will advise you on strategies that are effective and will continue to monitor your progress.

There can be side effects with any prescribed medication. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea but your provider will closely monitor your health along the way.

GLP-1 agonist drugs that are prescribed responsibly by an authorized, trained provider are approved and safe. Be sure that you are getting your prescriptions from a reputable, regulated source like the ones you will receive at The Luxe.
If you are a candidate for a GLP-1 agonist prescription, your provider will administer the best medication for you based on your medical history and lifestyle.
Patients who are prescribed GLP-1 agonists have seen results in clinical studies, but your provider will discuss your specific needs with you during your consultation.
